I’ve lived in Vegas for over fifteen years. I’ve seen “Old Vegas” blow up and the “Mega” resorts go up! The prevalent theme was “bigger is better.” I agreed. Until . . . I had the amazing opportunity to stay at the “M” Resort,Spa and Casino.

It was conceived and designed by the brilliant leadership of seasoned casino/hoteliers, Marnell Corrao Associates, who’s vision of originality, design and service were responsible for changing the landscape of Las Vegas. They were the genius behind CaesarsPalace, the Mirage, Bellagio, Forum Shops, Treasure Island, Wynn Las Vegas and the Rio All-Suite Hotel Casino.

Now, the “M” is taking the Vegas experience to an unprecedented new high!

I “M” agine, hundred foot lighted palm trees standing like sentinels amidst the stark midnight blue, star studded sky. Breathe in the cool fresh pristine air found in a higher altitude. Visualize a single towering glass structure rising from the horizon like a dessert mirage. A valet opens your door and a golden glow of light embraces you as you step thru the portico, The stunning simplicity of hundreds of white ca-lilies placed symmetrically on 50 foot teak wooden structures of floor to ceiling lit glass shelves is intoxicating. An exotic tropical fragrance gives you a heady rush of excitement. The foreign accent and beautiful smile of a wispy tall blond reservation clerk sparkles with genuine hospitality. Your full name has never sounded so glamorous. Lucky for you, the “M” is real, and out shines anything you could ever imagine!

The casino is charged with “Good Luck”

I found the 92,000 square foot casino ablaze with the thrill of gaming that’s entertaining, friendly and fun. The 64 gaming tables and 1,900 glittering slot machines awakened my playful surge to try my luck. I loved the way the high limit area, live action poker room and race and sports book were charged with that “winning” rush. I even liked that I could pour my own soda from their strategically placed beverage bars.

But what would the rooms be like? I inserted the key card that automatically turns on the lights once it’s placed in the metal holder by the door. Nice touch, I thought. Now, I’ll never be stumbling in the dark or fumbling to find my key.

walked thru the nine foot entryway that opened into a luxuriously over sized room. My heart skipped a beat, as I gazed out the floor-to-ceiling windows. The expansive view of the Vegas Strip lights and skyline was intoxicating.

Below, the outline of two lighted pools adorned by numerous large bronze pots ablaze with fire cast romantic shadows. The 100,000 square foot pool and events plaza was scurrying with activity. Tonight was the night they were lighting the largest Christmas in the world. 150 feet of holiday splendor was right outside my window. Wow!

The recessed spot lighting in the room with the backdrop of city lights and flickering fires cast a seductive glow. It was auspiciously quiet, until I discovered the Bose Wave Sound system and placed my IPOD in the docking station. Rich sounds of Andre Botcelli filled the air. “This is living,” I smiled.

Luxe is in all aspects of M Resort.

The king sized platform bed, with a stripped mirrored head board, accented with chagrin carmel leather strips, offset the stark white bedding, king sized pillows, accented by a five foot harlequin bolster pillow with copper, green, chocolate brown and tiny maroon horizontal stripes. A wood veneer canopy bridge jutted over the bed holding perfectly placed spot lighting. I loved the design, because my husband could read into the wee hours of the night, and his light would never bother me.

Wished I had that at home.

The ivory stripped wallpaper cast a warm feeling over the sleek contemporary style of the room. The 42 inch HD-LCD flat screen television was expertly placed within the wood grained veneer entertainment center. The carpet complimented the rich chocolate brown tones of the wood veneer with dramatic elliptical circles of cream, purple and orange designs. The carmel leather luggage holders were usefully decorative. Two stylized leather chairs accented with orange, carmel, and black corduroy velvet upholstering adorned the sitting area with matching ottomans. It was a great place to read or entertain guests. But what I really loved were the automatic privacy shades and drapes that opened and closed like a scene in a James Bond movie.

The bathroom was oversized and luxurious with Bella Cosa white fluffy towels, wonderful spa bath amenities and an oversized Grome Shower with large heavy plate glass doors. The marble sunken bathtub had a view of the Las Vegas Skyline. I had fun running a hot bath with their spa salts, toasting to the Vegas lights twinkling outside my window with a glass of bubbly champagne. I loved the imagination that created “this” experience!

The culinary experience at the “M” leaves nothing to the imagination. They have thought of everything. They have over 30,000 square feet of kitchen and culinary work areas dedicated to the culinary arts.

Studio B Show Kitchen Buffet is scrumptious. It’s the best buffet in Vegas with a first live-action cooking studio, (one of a kind) that engages diners providing them with ringside seats to cooking demonstrations and broadcasts. The pastry chef at the resort is from Paris and his confections are truly Parisian. I couldn’t tell you which one I loved the most, so please when you go, you must savor them all.

It was my husband’s birthday weekend and I wanted to surprise him with a couples massage. My husband usually leaves the spa treatments up to me. He had one bad experience (somewhere else) and hasn’t returned in years. But since everything about the “M” was so extraordinary, I convinced him that this was the time to open his imagination to this new experience and see what would happen.

The tranquil retreat instantaneously relaxes your mind, body, and soul.

We were immediately transported into another world as we wandered around the 23,000 square foot spa oasis.

The robes were heavenly.

The Jacuzzi bubbling and relaxing.

The hot steam shower and sauna detoxified my cells.

But it was the Couples Massage that took us to Nirvana. There were two massage tables side by side in the oversize treatment room. A beautiful purple orchid was perfectly placed on the crisp white sheet.

We quietly disrobed and settled under the covers. The expert hands of the therapist found every muscle in my body that needed love and attention. I could feel the stress from my body evaporate into thin air.

But what was more amazing was my husband’s reaction. He said, “I feel like I’m being treated like the richest man in the world.” I’d never seen him so happy and appreciative. The experience of sharing this extraordinary time was something I never would have imagined.

There was something about being in a room together, with two expert therapists working to refresh, relax, and rejuvenate our bodies that was soulfully sacred. I would recommend this treatment to anyone who wants to share something special with the person they love. It renews a bond between you that revitalizes your bodies and your relationship. Great present for any occasion!

Veloce Cibo at the top of the M.

We topped off our evening literally, at the top of the hotel at their Wine Bar and Restaurant called Veloce Cibo. It was 11:30 at night. We’d just come back from Andre Boccelli’s Christmas concert. My imagination was filled with heavenly angels, sounds of Christmas and the awe of musical artistry, so when we arrived at Veloce Cibo on the top floor of the hotel, I felt like heaven had followed us here.

The wine selections were divine, the view dramatic, and the succulent sea scallops and tasty Rainbow Roll were out of this world. What a perfect place to top off our stay!

Everything about the “M” is uniquely amazing.

But what most astounded me was their customer service. If I had a question, someone immediately found an answer. If they didn’t know the answer within minutes there was a message on my phone. Everyone from housekeeping, valet, desk clerks, and staff have been trained to treat every guest as a VIP.

t’s worth the stay just to experience this extraordinary service. It hasn’t gone unnoticed by the industry. They just won their four star rating from Forbes Travel Guide. Every Vegas hotel has a theme, from roller coasters, to EiffelTowers, dancing fountains, and gondolas. “M” has outdone them all. Compassion and care for their guest are the heart of their hospitality experience.
