\\\\Whenever I say to someone that I’m a travel correspondent for Jetsetters Magazine dot com they are instantly intrigued.

“Oh, that’s cool. It’s an internet magazine, right?” they ask.

Today, most travelers are excited by the idea of a “cyberspace” magazine as something at the cutting edge of the industry.  Sites like Priceline, Orbitz, Travelocity, and Jetstreams.com have transformed the way in which today’s traveler plans and purchases travel for both business and leisure.

What intrigues me, however, is how positively these same people respond to the Jetsetters name. They become visibly excited. You can practically see their imaginations take off just like the name implies.

Our Jetsetters Magazine Editor, Kriss Hammond, may have the exact attribution for the idea, but most of us know it’s a phrase that originated in the early 1960s to describe a burgeoning class of travelers who had the audacity (and money) to fly frequently on jets while the rest of us looked on with a mix of awe and envy.

For us it was the most romantic of ideas. Jetting around the world to exotic places — London one day and Hong Kong the next. Who could imagine how this mode of transportation would change millions of lives and become second nature to millions more. Now, as we scour the globe for the next “undiscovered” experience in a world interrupted by 9-1-1, the realities of travel present a completely new paradigm.

With that reality, our relationship to Jetsetters gives us an edge the average traveler (or writer) may not enjoy.

The Jetsetters Magazine advantage provides a different kind of freedom to travel and write about some of the best places on the planet.

We’re still in love with the romance of travel, even more so with the idea that “Jetsetters” Magazine embodies.

Have you ever heard that saying, “You are where you are supposed to be? Often times, it is a favorite saying of mine that brings a sense of balance and centering, and other times it brings a sense of exhilaration, joy, and adventure..

Since I began writing for Jetsetters Magazine seven years ago I’ve had the opportunity to say that saying to myself many times.

Whether it was visiting the Uluwatu Temple overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Bali (and staying in villas on the island), or dining on a simple arroz con pollo dish in a shack in Nicaragua (surfing included), or cruising the Fiji Islands for a week with Captain Cook Cruises, or creatingin fine dining reviews at top notch restaurants, or hanging out in beach resort to bring you back the “scoops”, I am adding enormous fulfillment to my life..

It has been a wonderful experience working with Kriss Hammond as one of Jetsetters Magazine’s correspondents. It has enabled me to hone in on my writing craft while continuing to explore new far-flung corners of the globe (Place visa stamp on my passport here!). I am looking forward to many more adventures with Jetsetters Magazine, knowing “I am exactly where I am meant to be!”

Thanks to all our hotel, tourism and public relations friends, 2008 was another great year of travel, photography and writing for www.jetsettersmagazine.com

PBI International organized tennis features at Bio-Hotel Stanglwirt in the Austrian Tyrol and at Ventana Canyon Golf & Racquet Club in Tucson.

Aid from Historic Cities of Germany led to travel features on the celebrated towns of Wurzburg, Augsburg, Regensburg and, still to come, Kitzbuhel.

Italy remains a focus for language and culture thanks to Casa Palmira and Mugello Tourism.  They helped us create a wonderful feature on Florence and the Mugello that highlighted former Medici residences now museums.

We refreshed ourselves in evergreen Seattle at Pan Pacific Hotel’s Vida Wellness Spa and were charmed in San Francisco staying on the renewed Regency Club level at Hyatt Regency Embarcadero.

In our home town, we’ve sampled gourmet pleasures courtesy of Envy Steakhouse and Renaissance Las Vegas Hotel, the Brazilian Steak House, Roy’s and Z’Tejas Southwestern Grill.

The glittering opening of the restaurants for Palazzo Las Vegas was especially star-studded with celebrity chefs — plus covering film premiers, courtesy of Barclay Communications, and incredible classical guitar and pops concerts at  UNLV’s performing arts center, and now the new Smith Center for the Performing Arts in Las Vegas.

Helen Keller said, “Life is either a grand adventure or it is nothing at all.”

Writing and traveling for Jetsetters Magazine is my “Grand Adventure.”

Traveling for Jetsetters has given me the opportunity to experience world class resorts, restaurants and entertainment. This Grand Adventure is always filled with delightful and memorable experiences.

As a member of this exclusive magazine the resorts, restaurants, and entertainment arenas treat my husband and I like royalty.

Our accommodations are luxurious, and the hospitality is always warm and gracious. When we travel as a Jetsetter travel correspondent, there are always unexpected and enchanting surprises that greet us everywhere we go.

The thrill of following our hearts and doing what we love to do golf, tennis, beaches, shopping, theatre, sports, or participating in unique and entertaining events, is a dream come true.

Writing the feature articles for the magazine only enhances the experience. Being able to relive every shining detail, and recall the splendor and surprises that we shared during our sojourn, makes each feature article an adventure in itself.

Reliving the feelings, the encounters and the fun that we shared with each event, destination, or adventure is a special and unique gift. They say, “beauty is in the eyes of the beholder”, and as a Jetsetters Magazine travel correspondent, at every Jetsetter destination our senses are filled with more beauty and adventure than we could imagine. Jetsetters Magazine has truly made our life one grand adventure after the next.

This may sound like a cliche but I think-no, I KNOW- that my entire life has been geared for the very moment that I connected with Jetsetters. From my love of writing and dreams of traveling back in my younger days on a small farm in the Midwest to my degrees in Business Administration, Fine Arts, and Sports Medicine, I am finally able to compile my entire life’s experiences into a life work that I absolutely LOVE!

This opportunity of a lifetime means more than traveling, writing, and photography. It’s about meeting people from various cultures, sharing what you know, and learning what they know. It’s about bridging the gap in the differences of this world. It’s about helping others and letting them help you.Not only have I been able to travel to dream locations but the connectivity that I have found are priceless! Rock climbing and sleeping on the desert floor of the surreal Joshua Tree National Park allowed me to overcome my fear of trusting others and giving up control as I depended on my belayer to get me down from heights I’d never imagine myself to climb. My greatest motivator was a senior citizen who was always the first one to try anything. I thought to myself as I watched her, if she could do it then I can do it. I would never have guessed that it was her first rock climbing experience also.

Surfing in southern California the CORRECT way without getting bashed in the head and wiping out each time was quite an accomplishment. I’ve always dreamed of being a surfer girl. Never did I realize that my teenage dreams would come true long after my teen years were over and this was only made possible by learning from females and with females only. It was a much easier learning process. I’m realizing that it’s never too late to fulfill your dreams!

Kayaking through the monstrous surf of San Diego was another amazing adventure! The crashing waves don’t seem so intimidating anymore. Suddenly, the fears I’ve faced as I deal with them head on aren’t so scary after all and having experienced locals teach you the ropes makes it even better.

Watching the sparkle in my daughter’s eye as she sailed a boat for the first time and shared the sailor’s lingo with her private instructor was not only my dream come true but hers also!

Hanging with celebrities in Palm Springs and having them share with me some of their fears and dreams as if I’m one of their old buddies from days gone by is beyond words.

Spending five weeks on my beloved Caribbean island was only possible through Jetsetters. Shedding the materialism and rat race stress of every day life, I was able to live as a true islander. To have no time restraints, laze under the shade of a coconut palm, and to focus only on the person and conversation at hand without my mind racing from one thing to the next. Complete and unindisturbed quality time and connectivity with another person. This is what living should be all about!

I have made friends from all corners of the world for a lifetime through my travels. From the dive instructor whose father was the teacher of Jacques Cousteau to the British Commander sent by the Queen on a diving expedition to Belize to world famous yoga masters, I could list them all and tell about each person and every experience but it would take more than a lifetime. I just know that what I have gained from signing up with Jetsetters is worth more than all the riches in this world.

I joined Jetsetters Magazine as a writer but now I am more than a writer. I am a photojournalist, a VIP, an Ambassador for the region I come from and the area I travel to. I represent the media, women, athletes, parents, teachers, artists, readers, travelers, students, and many others of this world. I, being one simple person, am able to make a difference by touching one life at a time. Who knew that a gal from the midwest could accomplish such a tremendous thing?

Jetsetters and Kriss Hammond, did you know that when you started this magazine that you had a life-changing ministry on your hands? My life is an incredible adventure every day and is complete because of you!

This comes from the very depths of my heart.

When my mom asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up I always answered, Samantha Brown!

The first time she received this answer she was thoroughly confused. Then I turned on the Travel Channel and there she was in all her glory, wandering through the labyrinth known as the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul. She had my dream job! She traveled, she explored, she emersed herself in cultures all over the world- for work!

That’s what I always dreamed of doing; fast forward 15+ years and my dream is a reality with Jetsetters Magazine.

When I met my husband in New York in 2008, it didn’t take me long to make the permanent move to his native country of Norway. I quickly found myself living among the fjords and staggering mountains of Northern Norway. After about two years of immersion in the culture and language, I was established and seeking a new adventure. It was then I hatched a plan to travel the world.

When I met Kriss, the Editor and creator of Jetsetters Magazine I was just starting the first leg of my RTW (around the world) trip with my husband in 2013. South Africa was a whirlwind of experiences: from seeing a herd of elephants up close, being scared out of my wits by spiders in the South African Karoo,  to bungee jumping off of the highest bungee bridge in the world. Kriss was always there documenting everything through video and cracking me up with his hilarious “jokes” along the way. He must have seen my passion for travel because he asked me to write for Jetsetters Magazine not too long after.

I’m a strong believer that travel makes us better people, and reflection upon our experiences helps us grow. It broadens our horizons, brings out the best in us, and helps us develop a more in-depth understanding that all human beings are citizens of the world. We are more alike than we are different. I have met beautiful people in all walks of life all over the world. They all have been vital contributors in some of the best times of my life. Every place I travel becomes a part of me somehow. I’m very excited to be a part of Jetsetters Magazine’s Travel Writers Network and for all the adventures that lay in my future.

I don’t know which I enjoy more, writing or traveling!

Fortunately, I don’t have to choose one over the other. As a travel correspondent for Jetsetters Magazine and as a member of The Travel Writers Network I have the best of both worlds. I’m indulging all my travel fantasies and honing my writing skills at the same time.

Kriss Hammond goes out of his way to make sure I have as much information as possible before I set out on a trip, making my job easier and even more fun.

In my travels “on assignment” for Jetsetters Magazine I’ve always been delightfully received and treated like royalty. My husband and I particularly like B&Bs and historic hotels. As a travel correspondent for Jetsetters Magazine I’ve had the privilege to visit and write about some fine places with fascinating histories.

It’s not easy for a destination to receive feature coverage with photos in print travel publications, and with 650,000 weekly travel readers, Jetsetters Magazine provides invaluable free publicity. Sixty million people researched and booked their travel online last year. Marketing-savvy properties see the trends and appreciate what Jetsetters Magazine and Jetstreams.com can do for them.

I’ve found that Jetsetters Magazine and Jetstreams.com, with its links and detailed information about destinations, provide a tremendous information service to the traveling public. I always enjoy sharing my experiences and photos with others, so I’m thrilled to be part of that service.

Carolyn Hamilton is also a freelance writer, photographer, and artist who splits her life in Ecuador, Las Vegas, and Seattle. Carolyn is also a former Peace Corps volunteer serving in Suriname, and a published historical romance novelist.

www.Jetsettersmagazine.com is the number one world-wide traveler’s answer to a multitude of questions on destinations whether they relate to size or geographical location, indoor or outdoor activities, accommodations and rates or even climatic conditions.

It is the most comprehensive guide so-to-speak, not only on the type and size of destinations, but also on such important concerns as the people, culture, terrain, and a multitude of questions which have always boggled the mind of travelers.

What I find particularly impressive about Jetsetters Magazine is the meticulousness in which all the information is gathered and presented, the detailed work involved in giving out pertinent information on a wide range of issues of paramount importance to the traveler. And its presentation is made in such a manner, that the reader is immediately brought into a state of relaxation.

Over the years, Jetsetters Magazine has proven itself beyond a doubt as the number one source for up-to-date and pertinent information which play a major role in the selection process for travelers, as such information is accurate and detailed.

Its correspondents have provided some of the most challenging bits of news and photographs, that, collectively placed Jetsetters at the top of the list of sources for details and information on destinations, large and small.

In addition some of the features are analytical and informative and take the reader to the pinnacle of their expectations and have been able to satisfy their every expectations.

I am happy to work with Kriss Hammond and be a part of that team of writers.

As I write about Jetsetters Magazine I cannot help but reflect upon the years of unique travel, restaurant, and entertainment adventures. My guests and I have always been given red carpet treatment. Being a n on-line publication, Jetsetters Magazine makes it easy for the public to access articles and reviews, as well as book travel arrangements.

Many experiences stand out, but if I had to select a once in a lifetime evening, it would have to be the opening of Zumanity at New York, New York in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Cirque du Soleil is always well trained and off-center in its approach to theater. I knew the show would be interesting, but what I did not know was that the after party would be one of the most spectacular happenings to occur on the West Coast.

Held on the top floor of the hotel’s parking structure, every fine restaurant from the MGM-Mirage group had a tasting booth, the Cirque du Soleil provided their own masseuses and masseurs for complimentary massages, there were performers on stilts, and the Who’s Who of Las Vegas casinos and entertainment mingling with the press and a host of Cirque wannabe’s. To cap off the evening, performers looking like human puppets dangling from a moving crane played instruments over our heads. It was a stunning sight. Then a beautiful, balletic acrobat did her pretzel twists suspended ten floors above the street. Breathtaking. The press party was a happening that finally simmered and faded at 11 a.m. the next morning.

Reviewing unique destinations anywhere in the world is a tough job, but somebody has to do it. And it might as well be someone such as myself who appreciates different cultures, fine dining, and superb entertainment.

I have wandered in distant fields. I have sailed down mighty rivers. I have explored some of the far reaches of the Earth, partly to experience that which most people only fantasize about, but mostly to explore remote parts of my own mind.

I am a traveler; an explorer, and a professional photographer. I have witnessed both beauty and poverty, and eaten things that would make you cringe. I have slept in places you may have fantasies or nightmares about. Throughout these travels, I collect stories by way of experience, and color them with words that give justice to my overactive imagination and wild sense of adventure. These stories, I give to you fair reader, via Jetsetters Magazine.

Jetsetters Magazine is a traveler’s digital portal where you can source your own adventure ideas through the articles. It is a way for serious travelers to experience the world without breaking the bank. It is a virtual gateway where the reader can live vicariously through the adventures of an adrenaline-seeking vagabond like myself without all the danger. Follow me as I trek through the poverty-stricken villages of the Philippines, explore the volcanic island of Montserrat, and relax at five-star resorts in the Caribbean. Share with me the love and tragedies I meet as I journey through far-away lands, and explore the exciting and strange world we live in through Jetsetters Magazine.
