Get treated royally at London’s Plaza on the River Club & Residence.
Across Lambeth Bridge on the Thames
Southbank the hotel is strategically located
for access to all of central London.
Gazing through a floor-to-ceiling glass wall at an uninterrupted view of the River Thames and London’s most impressive landmarks — House of Parliament, Big Ben and the London Eye — guests of the new Plaza on the River Club and Residence can see, from the first moment they enter their suite, nothing has been left to chance in this city’s finest luxury serviced residence.
The warm woods and soft light of the hotel's
reception create an unhurried atmosphere putting
guests at ease from the first moment they arrive.
Opened in 2005 on London’s Albert Embankment on the south side of the river, the Plaza, with 66 one, two and three bedroom suites, is a contemporary, high-end property that cossets guests with every amenity they might require – from your choice of pillow style in the bedroom or Gilchrist & Soames toiletries in your bath to the champagne you prefer stocked in your fridge. Whether your stay is for one night, several weeks or a year, the Plaza provides an unparalleled level of personal service.
Start at the right location.
The best-known London landmarks
are framed by the full-sized glass
windows that face the river in every suite
Very little of South Bank’s past can be found in today’s London. The area’s swamps were drained centuries ago and World War II decimated the 19th Century factories and workshops that had transformed its villages into an important industrial center. Eventually, the rubble was cleared to make way for the new cultural and residential facilities that could rival those on the northern bank. The South Bank Arts Center was built in the 1960s and became the first in a wave of properties that elevated the area to prominence.
Just across Lambeth Bridge on the Queen’s Walk that winds alongside the river, the Plaza enjoys a strategic position worthy of any military planner or business executive bent on conquering London. For those who choose darting around town on the Underground — the “Tube” as it is commonly known — or need rail connections to other UK cities, the Plaza is minutes from both Waterloo and Vauxhall stations.
An unbeatable London lifestyle.
Every suite at the Plaza on the River Club and Residence is thoughtfully styled and offers a contemporary atmosphere in which to work, relax or entertain. Most have their own balcony and aforementioned river view. All have been designed with clean lines using solid wood, silk wall-coverings and chic soft furnishings in quiet colors. Stylish retro fittings and fixtures are functional but not boring. Lighting is a part of the design with back lit beds and recessed spots in all the right places.
The solid woods, silk wall coverings
and soft lighting add up to a warm
and welcoming bedroom design.
The well-being of guests is at the forefront with twice daily maid service, laundry and dry cleaning, secured personal storage, plasma screens in each bedroom and sitting room, satellite and terrestrial television, CD and DVD players. Fresh cut flowers are changed every two days.
Balanced for business and leisure.
Larger suites can accommodate a family and Plaza designers have created the perfect balance between the practical needs of business people and the comfort, elegance and style that make their families feel at home. In room business facilities include ergonomically designed desks, U.S. and E.U. plug sockets, wireless internet, fax, printer and data ports, private telephone number, 2-line speaker phone with voicemail. You can even ask for tailor-made business cards.

“Chino Latino: One of the 50 best restaurants in Europe.” — easyJet Magazine
Celebrate the day's adventure
at Chino Latino.
Guests are thrilled to discover Chino Latino Brasserie, Bar & Lounge. The South Bank’s latest and most inviting restaurant is on premise and in only its first year received top-flight reviews and awards from several of London’s leading nightlife and gourmet magazines.
The beautifully designed, contemporary restaurant serves up fusion delights from China, Thai, Japanese and Mediterranean modern cuisines. The top of the menu sums it up best: “A fusion of two different cultures sharing one mind. The love of food and drink and having a good time. We ask you to share, to love and enjoy.” Head chef Jimmy Nakamura has a wealth of experience behind him as former chef at Nobu and Tsunami and is a winner of Time Out’s Best Japanese Chef award.
We were delighted with the Thai curry full of juicy lobster, scallops and shrimps and a beautiful, flaky sea bass. A bottle of sake provided the intermittent sips needed to lengthen the joy of the experience. Warm chocolate Fondant with chocolate sauce and crème Chantilly will satisfy any sweet longings that linger. For reservations to China Latino call 020 7769 2500.
Chino Latino has been dazzling diners with its flair for international fusion since opening in the Plaza just over one year ago.
Immediately adjacent to the restaurant is the bar and lounge with its backlit bar providing a stunning backdrop to the chic space. Sofas, banquettes and comfortable armchairs in white and brown leather coupled with subtle lighting created by table lamps and candles exude a relaxed atmosphere. Most nights we found the bar buzzing with a convivial, eclectic mix of small business groups and couples sharing stories from the day’s business or travel adventures. This is the ideal destination for a modest lunch with prices starting from around $7.50 US. The bar is open from 11:00 a.m. until late, with lunch served from 12 noon to 3:00 p.m., afternoon tea and snacks from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.
