Catalina Island

Marilins & Martinis on Catalina Island - While inquiring about the best restaurants on Catalina Island while walking down Crescent Street along the Harbor all the locals agreed that Steve’s Steakhouse was tops for steaks. But, what about marlin?

Huntington Beach

Chimayo Culinary Huntington Beach Adventure - Few restaurants in California are lucky enough to be situated smack dab on the beach like Chimayo in Huntington Beach.  It must be a coastal zoning ordinance or something. You can’t miss the Chimayo location, or maybe you can. It is just below Duke’s Bar, and just below the Huntington Beach pier gangway.

Surf In For A Bite At the Famous Longboard Restaurant - Surf champs are memoralizes at the Surf Museum in Huntington Beach, and surfer dudes rule the waves, but when everyone gets hungry they head to the Longboard Restaurant.

Los Angeles / Santa Monica / Long Beach

Hip! Hop! Koi - Trendy Sushi In LA - It's a good thing we arrived early for our dining experience at Koi Restaurant. Hip, hot restaurants come and go, but Koi is holding its own in the Los Angeles neighborhood of West Hollywood.

Sunday Champagne Brunch With The Queen -
Are you looking for an authentic art deco experience wherein you will dine upon an elaborate gourmet feast? Tired of arguing on where to go to make everyone happy, even the pickiest of eaters?

Palm Springs

Johannes' Austrian "Von da Hoamat" Cuisine in P-Springs - Austrian-born chef/owner Johannes Bacher's Palm Springs restaurant has been described as "California-European." Perhaps it's because he's successfully added his country's "comfort food" to the modern California fusion cuisine you'd expect in a cosmopolitan southern California restaurant. The result is a menu raised to a new level.

Hit The Deck In Palm Springs - After strolling the Palm Canyon Drive and checking out the unique shops and galleries of Palm Springs, we rested our weary sandaled feet at The Deck restaurant overlooking the shopping district of the oasis town. We were offered an outside table which was wonderful for viewing the mountains, sunset, and the passersby.

Vintage Palm Springs - Vintage Service at Melvyn's - Ever since Mel Haber purchased Palm Spring's Ingleside Inn over 30 years ago, the restaurant named for him has been a shining example of everything one visits Palm Springs for: a quiet ambiance with low, unobtrusive music, impeccable service by tuxedoed waiters who make you feel like family, and consistent quality dining at a reasonable price.

San Diego / La Jolla / Del Mar

Hang a Star On The Cowboy Star - Jack Thorpe wrote, “A cowboy’s life is a royal life, his saddle his kingly throne”.  That was the introduction that set the tone for my good ‘ol fashion western dinner at Cowboy Star restaurant in svelte downtown San Diego.

Pleasure of The Prado Treasures - The Prado restaurant is in “The House of Hospitality” in Balboa Park; the entrance made me feel as if I was walking into a historic mansion in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico.  The Saltillo tile floor and the large courtyard pulled me in as if I was a rabbit and the ambiance was the carrot.

On Point - Blue Point Coastal Cuisine -
We arrive for my birthday dinner at the Blue Point Coastal Cuisine restaurant on 5th and Market.  I am impressed with the chic outside entrance.  There is a patio on the “Market” side that is great for enjoying that beautiful San Diego weather.  The hostesses at the front desk were prompt, friendly, and both had fantastic smiles.  They sat us at one of the booths on the side of the restaurant that was very open with large windows that looked right out on Market Street

Art of the Earth - Arterra Restaurant - Food is art and fine art means fine food at the Arterra Restaurant at the Marriott Del Mar in California, rated one of the best restaurants in the USA by Time Magazine.

San Diego - $25 Gift Certificates for $10

Temecula Rolls Out The Barrels - Like David slaying Goliath, educated wine drinkers throughout the globe need to keep their attention focused on Temecula's 18 amazing wineries producing top-notch varietals before they slay the sleeping giants like Sonoma, Napa, and down under.
