Handel's Messiah - Performed by the San Francisco Symphony and Choir - Handel wrote Messiah during the years of 1741-45, and performed it first to an indifferent London reception. Ham Concert Hall. BALLET - The Shanghai Ballet Performs Coppelia - "Coppélia" is a rare ballet with a comic bent, a witty female lead, and, uh, less-than-heroic male characters. Like the Nutcracker, it is based on a story by E.T.A. Hoffman, and you'll notice the parallels in the dreamy, childlike sense of make-believe it portrays. In The Land of Snow and Dreams - The Nutcracker is one of the world's most beloved syphonies and ballets. The Las Vegas Philharmonic teams up with the Nevada Ballet Theater to bring heart felt well wishers to everyone.
